2、ingiscomposedofacentralblockwithtwowings,spreadpartiallyontwofloors.TheschoolopenedinAugust2008.AfterathoroughinspectionofthelandownedbytheKahnawakeEducationCenter(KEC),thedesignteamchosealocationinanexistingclearingwherethebuildingwouldbeadjacenttoaforestbutst
3、illaccessiblefromthemainhighwayofthereserve.Theproposedlocationwasanalyzedbyallbuildingprofessionalstooptimizetheorientation/layoutofthebuilding.Consideringtheageandhistoryofthesite,thedecisionwasmadetodesignabuildingandmakeitfitthesite,preventingmajorsitemodif
4、icationsandunnecessarycuttingdownoftrees.Thisconsiderationwasevenmoreimportantsinceanendangeredtreespecies(Butternut)waspresent.Also,allsoilremovedfromthesiteforexcavationwaspilednearthehighwaytocreateanaturalwallofdirt,grassandtrees,toreducethenoisefromthehigh
