3、ssofthePeople'sRepublicofChinaonOctober31,2000)Article1ThisLawisenactedinaccordancewiththeConstitutionwithaviewtoprotectingthelawfulrightsandinterestsofreturnedoverseasChineseandthefamilymembersofoverseasChinese.Article2ReturnedoverseasChinesedenoteoverseasChinesewhohavereturnedtoth

4、ecountryandtakenitastheirplaceofpermanentresidence.OverseasChinesedenoteChinesecitizenswhohavesettleddownabroad.FamilymembersofoverseasChinesedenotethefamilymembers,residinginthecountry,ofoverseasChineseandreturnedoverseasChinese.ThefamilymembersofoverseasChinesereferredtointhisLawi

5、ncludeoverseasChinese'sandreturnedoverseasChinese'sspouses,parents,childrenandtheirspouses,brothersandsisters,paternalgrand-parents,maternalgrand-parents,grand-childrenandotherrelationswhohavelongsupportedorbeensupportedbyoverseasChineseorreturnedoverseasChinese.Article3Returnedover

6、seasChineseandthefamilymembersofoverseasChineseshallbeentitledtothecitizen'srightsprescribedbytheConstitutionandthelawandatthesametimeshallperformthecitizen'sdutiesprescribedbytheConstitutionandthelaw.Noorganizationorindividualmaydiscriminateagainstthem.TheStateshall,inaccordancewit

7、htheactualconditionsandthecharacteristicsofreturnedoverseasChineseandthefamilymembersofoverseasChinese,givethemappropriatepreferentialtreatment,andthespecificmeasuresthereofshallbeformulatedbytheStateCouncilortherelevantcompetentdepartmentsundertheStateCouncil.Article4Thepeople'sgov
