4、eople’sRepublicofChinafromthefunctionaltranslationtheory.ThisthesissummarizesthepurposesundertheSkoposrule.Itpointedoutthatthetranslatedtextmustmaintaintheequallybindingfunctionoftheoriginalone.Inaddition,thelexical,syntacticfeaturesandculturalfactorsa
5、reanalyzedtodiscussthetranslatabilityinaccordancewiththecoherencerule,fidelityruleandloyaltyrule.Allthediscussionsshowthetranslatabilityofthestyleoflegaltexts.Inmostcases,asEnglishandChineseinlegaltranslationbelongtodifferentbranchesoflanguagewithdiffe

7、ctionaltranslationtheory;thestyleoflegaltexts;MaritimeCodeofthePeople’sRepublicofChina;translatabilityii摘要法律语言作为法律的载体，经过长久使用及发展，已经成为一种具有特定文体特征的职业语言。因此，法律文体的翻译十分特殊。长期以来，关于文体可译性的研究大多集中于文学文体，有关法律文体的研究甚少。我国学者刘宓庆指出，文体可译在于文体是通过文体特征来反映的，即使目标语和源语存在差异。因此，在法律翻译中
8、，如果能够识别出法律文体的文体标记，翻译时原文的意思和作用就可以在目标语中进行再现。功能翻译理论在译学界是非常有影响的一个学派，其理论对各种实际翻译问题和现象有很强的解释力，特别是对非文学文本的翻译。本文从功能翻译理论视角对《中华人民共和国海商法》的英译本进行分析，通过目的法则对翻译目的进行概括，指出《海商法》译文必须在目的文化中达到原文本的同等效力。然后分别用连贯法则、忠实法则和忠诚法则来分析《海商法》的英译，说明法律文体是可译的。然而，在法律翻译中涉及到的英汉两种
