3、n,2004).InanotherstudyconductedalsointheUnitedStates,Marsan(2000)indicatesthatalmost70%ofthefoodandbeveragerevenueofhotelsisgeneratedbybanquets,ofwhich50%comesfromweddings.ArecentsurveyconductedbyESDlife,apublic–privatepartnershipe-platform,revealsthateachc

4、oupleiswillingtospendaroundUS$15900ontheweddingbanquetalone(ESDlife,2007).TheweddingbanquetbusinessrepresentsaturnoverofUS$755millioneachyearinHongKong.Despitethesignificantcontributionoftheweddingbusinesstothehospitalityindustryingeneralandthefoodservicese

5、ctorinparticular,theexistinghospitalityandtourismliteraturehasvirtuallynopublishedstudiesofcouplebehaviorwithregardtobanquetvenueselection.LiteratureReviewNotmention.SubjectorProblemTofillthisgap,thisresearchmakesaninitialattempttoinvestigatetheperceptionof

6、prospectiveweddingcouplesinHongKongoftheimportanceofvenueselectionattributes.ToproviderecommendationstothebanquetmanagersofhotelsandChineserestaurants,thisresearchexaminestheextrinsicandintrinsicpersonalattributesthatinfluencethedecisionmakingofcouples.Thro

7、ughdevelopingaproposedmodel,thisstudyalsoinvestigatestherelationshipbetweentheselectionofaweddingbanquetvenueandthedemographiccharacteristicsofprospectiveweddingcouplestodeterminetheinfluenceofthesecharacteristicsonpurchasingbehavior.PurposeUnderstandinghow
