3、ldateofMarch2008.TheaimofthispublicationistomakethetransitiontoEurocode2:Designofconcretestructuresaseasyaspossiblebydrawingtogetherinoneplacekeyinformationandcommentaryrequiredforthedesignanddetailingoftypicalconcreteelements.Thecementandconcreteindustryrecognise

4、dthatasubstantialeffortwasrequiredtoensurethattheUKdesignprofessionwouldbeabletouseEurocode2quickly,effectively,efficientlyandwithconfidence.Withsupportfromgovernment,consultantsandrelevantindustrybodies,theConcreteIndustryEurocode2Group(CIEG)wasformedin1999andthisG

5、rouphasprovidedtheguidanceforaco-ordinatedandcollaborativeapproachtotheintroductionofEurocode2.PartoftheoutputoftheCIEGprojectwasthetechnicalcontentfor7ofthe11chaptersinthispublication.TheremainingchaptershavebeendevelopedbyTheConcreteCentre.AcknowledgementsThecon
