3、osymbiontsinfieldandlaboratorypopulationsofB.tabaciBandQbiotyesweredetectedbymolecularmethods.Meawhile,theendosymbiontsinB.tabaciQbiotypelabpopulationwereinactivatedwithrifampicin,andthenthebiologyofWolbachiapositiveandnegativepopula-tionsofB.tabaciQbiotypewerecompared.Rusultsindicate
4、dthatallthepopulationsofB.tabaciwerein-fectedbytheprimaryendosymbiontCandidatusPortieraaleyrodidarum,regardlessbiotypeorpopulationhabitatoffieldorlab,whiletheinfectionofsecondaryendosymbiontsWolbachiaandArsenophonusweremarkeddifferentinvariousB.tabacipopulationsrelatedtobiotypeandhabi
5、tat.Inactivatedwith1.0mg/mlrifampicinfor48h,theinfectionofWolbachiainB.tabaciQbiotypewascompletelyeliminated,butnoob-viouseffectontheCandidatusandArsenophonuinallthewhiteflypopualtions.Treatedbyrifampicin,thefecundityoffemaleadultsreducedandthedevelopmentaltimeofF1offspringextended.Re
6、sultsalsoshowedthattheeliminationofWolbachiainB.tabaciledtotheincreaseofmaleprogenyproportion.Ingeneral,ourcurrentstudyshowedthatendosymbiontsvariedindifferentB.tabacipopulationsfromvarioushabitatsandWolbachiahassignificanteffectsonthebiologyofitswhiteflyhosts.Keywords:Endosymbiont;Ha
