3、hattakesintoaccountrecentde-constructionsofliterarycriticism’skeynotionsandcriticallyembracestheminarevisedsetofhypotheses,notforgettingtheconstructednessofallknowledge(includingthatofliterature);and,second,toseekcontemporarymeanings,relevance,andfunct
4、ionsofknowledgeaboutliterature.Bothaimsimplyaredistributionofscholarlytopics,methods,andcompetencesthatliterarycriticismhastodealwithifitwishestosurviveinthepresentcontextofdisciplinaryredivisionsandcross-disciplinarymethods(inlinguistics,thesocialscie
5、nces,culturalhistory,psychology,cognitivescience,etc.).Onlybycomingtotermswiththeglobalreconstructionofknowledgeaswellaswithrelocationofscholarlycompetencescanliterarycriticismstillclaimgreatergeneralvalidityandbroadersocialrelevanceforitsinsights.This
6、book,whichcouldbeentitled“SiteunderConstruction,”isanintroductiontotheseproblemsandisdividedintotwoparts.Inthefirstpart,Icommentontheprospectsoftwomainbranchesofliterarycriticism:literarytheoryandliteraryhistory.Inthesecondpart,Itrytoreconstructandrevi
7、sesomebasiccriticalconceptsthatareusedformodelingliterarytextsandtheirtemporalorspatialcontexts.1.Literarytheory.Inpost-modernity,literarytheoryhasbecomepluralistic,perspectivized,and–inparallelwiththeweakenedautonomyofbelletristicwritingandthedeconstr
