2、andusinginformationresources,despitethattheacademiccommunicationandusingpatternsforpeopleinthetraditionalprintenvironmenthavebeenstudiedformanyyears,theInternetmediapresentsanewandrelativelyunexploredareaforsuchstudy.Inthisarticle,weexploredthedistributionandutilizationofwebrecoursesinhumani
3、tiesandsocialsciencesbasedonwebcitations.Wecollected1,421,731citationslistedin148,172articlesfrom493journalspublishedduringtheperiodof2006–2007intheCSSCI,whichresultedin44,973webcitations.Wecountedtheamountandtypesofwebresourcesusedinvariousdisciplines,analyzedtheURLsfrequencyfromthehost-lev
4、el,fittedthefrequencydistributionintotheregressionmodelswithSPSS,andperformthedisciplinescouplinganalysisbasedonthewebcitations.Wefoundoutthat:(a)Thedistributionsofwebcitationsbyyearsorbywebsitesandwebpagetypesareselectiveandregular;(b)Greatdisparityexistsamongvariousdisciplinesintermsofusing
