2、calandactualvolumetricflowratethroughthedischargecoefficientconcept.Toknowhowrotameterworks.INTRODUCTIONThemeasurementoffluidflowisimportantinapplicationsrangingfrommeasurementsofblood-flowratesinhumanarterytothemeasurementofliquidoxygeninarocket.Theselectionoftheproperinstr

3、umentforaparticularapplicationisgovernedbymanyvariables,includingcost.Flow-rate-measurementdevicesfrequentlyrequireaccuratepressureandtemperaturemeasurementsinordertocalculatetheoutputoftheinstrument.Themostwidelyusedflowmeteringprincipleinvolvesplacingafixedareaflowrestrict

4、ionofsometypeinthepipeorductcarryingthefluid.Thisflowrestrictioncausesapressuredropthatvarieswiththeflowrate.Thus,measurementofthepressuredropbymeansofasuitabledifferential-pressurepickupallowsflowratemeasurement.Eachoftheflowmeasurementdevicesinherentlyhasitsownadvantagesan

5、ddisadvantages.Someofthoseinstrumentsare:•TheVenturiMeterIntheventurimeter(showninfigure(1)below)thefluidisacceleratedthroughaconvergingconeofangle15-20°andthepressuredifferencebetweentheupstreamsideoftheconeandthethroatismeasuredandprovidesthesignalfortherateofflow.Upstream
