4、heoryandapplicationsoftransmissionlinesandwaveguides,plusanintroductiontoantennatheoryandradiation.Theproblemsarisingfromthisschemelayinthefactthatinusingtwoormoretextbooks,thedifferencesinapproachandinsymbolicnotationscontributedtoasubstantiallossoftimer
5、equiredinrelearnings~meoftheideasthatshouldhavecarriedoversmoothlyfromthefirstsemester'swork.Moreover,indevelopingstaticfieldsfromthehistoricalapproach(viatheexperimentalCoulombandAmperelaws),theunderstandingoftheunderlyingMaxwell'sequationswasdeferredunt
6、ilnearlytheendofthefirstsemester,judgedbythisauthortobeamajordisadvantage.Thepresenttextrepresentsanefforttoallaythesedifficulties.Itistheculminationofseveralpreliminaryversions,usedintheclassroomformorethansevenyearsattheUniversityofColoradoandbycolleagu
