3、lgradientsmeasuredina25Ð27.5Aelectricpropulsionhollowcathode.Thecathodeconsistedofa1.5cmhollowtubewithan0.28cmdiameteroriÞceandwasoperatedwith5.5SCCMSCCMdenotescubiccentimeterperminuteatSTPofxenonßowusingtwodifferentanodegeometries:asegmentedconeandacircu

4、larßatplate.ThenumericalsimulationsshowthatclassicalresistivityyieldsasmuchasfourtimescolderelectrontemperaturescomparedtothemeasuredvaluesintheoriÞceandnear-plumeregionsofthecathode.ClassicaltransportandOhmÕslawalsopredictexceedinglyhighelectron-ionrelative

5、driftspeedscomparedtotheelectronthermalspeed4.Itisfoundthattheadditionofanomalousresistivitybasedonexistinggrowthrateformulasforelectron-ionstreaminginstabilitiesimprovesqualitativelythecomparisonbetweenthenumericalresultsandthetime-averagedmeasurements.S
