3、ccollapseloadsofpressurevesselsunderinternalpressure,andcomparestheanalyticalmethodsaccordingtothreecriteriastatedintheASMEBoilerPressureVesselCode.First,afiniteelementtechniqueusingthearc-lengthalgorithmandtherestartanalysisisdevelopedtoconducttheplasticcollapseanalysisofvessels,whic
4、hincludesthematerialandgeometrynon-linearpropertiesofvessels.Second,asthemechanicalpropertiesofvesselsareassumedtobeelastic-perfectlyplastic,thelimitloadanalysisisperformedbyem-ployingtheNewton-Raphsonalgorithm,whilethelimitpressureofvesselsisobtainedbythetwice-elastic-slopemethodandt
5、hetangentintersectionmethodrespectivelytoavoidexcessivedeformation.Finally,theelasticstressanalysisunderworkingpressureisconductedandthestressstrengthofvesselsischeckedbysortingthestressresults.Theresultsarecomparedwiththoseobtainedbyexperimentsandotherexistingmodels.Thisworkprovidesa
