1、Version3.0(2009)ELECTRONICINDUSTRYCODEOFCONDUCTTheElectronicIndustryCodeofConductestablishesstandardstoensurethatworkingconditionsintheelectronicsindustrysupplychainaresafe,thatworkersaretreatedwithrespectanddignity,andthatbusinessoperationsareenvironmentallyresponsible.Con
2、sideredaspartoftheelectronicsindustryforpurposesofthisCodeareOriginalEquipmentManufacturers(OEMs),ElectronicManufacturingServices(EMS)firmsandOriginalDesignManufacturers(ODMs)includingcontractedlaborthatmaydesign,market,manufactureand/orprovidegoodsandservicesthatareusedtop
3、roduceelectronicgoods.TheCodemaybevoluntarilyadoptedbyanybusinessintheelectronicssectorandsubsequentlyappliedbythatbusinesstoitssupplychainandsubcontractors.ToadopttheCodeandbecomeaparticipant(“Participant”),abusinessshalldeclareitssupportfortheCodeandactivelypursueconforma
4、ncetotheCodeanditsstandardsinaccordancewithamanagementsystemassetforthintheCode.FortheCodetobesuccessful,Participantsmustregardthecodeasatotalsupplychaininitiative.Ataminimum,participantsshallalsorequireitsnexttiersupplierstoacknowledgeandimplementtheCode.Fundamentaltoadopt
5、ingtheCodeistheunderstandingthatabusiness,inallofitsactivities,mustoperateinfullcompliancewiththelaws,rulesandregulationsofthecountriesinwhichit1operates.TheCodeencouragesParticipantstogobeyondlegalcompliance,drawinguponinternationallyrecognizedstandards,inordertoadvancesoc
6、ialandenvironmentalresponsibility.TheElectronicIndustryCitizenshipCoalitioniscommittedtoobtainingregularinputfromstakeholdersinthecontinueddevelopmentandimplementationoftheElectronicIndustryCodeofConduct(EICC).TheCodeismadeupoffivesections.SectionsA,B,andCoutlinestandardsfo
7、rLabor,HealthandSafety,andtheEnvironment,respectively.SectionDoutlinestheelementsofanacceptablesystemtomanageconformitytothisCode.SectionEaddsstandardsrelatingtobusinessethics.1TheCodeisnotintendedtocreatenewandadditionalthirdpartyrights,includingforworkers.ElectronicIndust
