3、ONFig.1.ThePhase1CLFRarrayinoperationatLiddellpowerstation.Thispaperdescribesthetestingofa1MW(th)on-siteCompactLinearFresnelReflector(CLFR)solararrayatLiddellPowerStation(Fig.1).ThesolararrayconceptusedinthisprojectisoftheLinearFresneltypeandwasoriginallydevelopedattheUniversityofSydneyin1993(Millsa

4、ndMorrison,2000).Inthepresentmoreadvancedapproach,groundlevelreflectorrowsaimsolarbeamradiationatadownwardfacingcavityreceivermountedonmultipleelevatedparalleltowerlines.Thetechnologyisinnovativeinthatitallowsreflectorstobefocusedoneitheroftheadjacentabsorberlinessothataconfigurationcanbedynamically

5、chosenbythecontrolsystemwhichoffersminimalmutualreflectorblocking.Thesystemislow-costbyvirtueoftheoff-the-shelfcomponentschosenforitsconstruction.Themirrortrackingstructureiscrucialtothelowcostofthedesign:mirrorsarebondedinanelasticallydeformedstateontoasheetofstandardcorrugatedroofingsteel.Thesteel

6、roofingsheetisthenmountedonasimplespace-framewithsupportandtrackinghoopsplacedevery12metres.Thehoopsaresetuponrollerswhichallow360°rotation.Projectedelectricitygenerationcostsforlargestandalonesystemsusingthermalstorageareclosetofossilfuelgenerationcost(Millsetal,2004).FirstResultsfromCompactLinearF
