3、eresultsshowthat:Comparedwithsolemaize,maizedrymatteryieldandcarbonaccumulationdecreasedwheninintercroppedsoybean.Also,theinteractionbetweenintercroppingandnitrogenrateschangednitrogenaccumulationanddistributionincropgrain,strawandroot.Nitrogenapplicationsignificantlyincreasedmaizedry15matteryi

4、eld,nitrogenandcarbonaccumulation,butreducedthoseofsoybean.Inaconclusion,corn-soybeanintercroppingandnitrogenratesaffectedthegrowthofcornandsoybeaninuplandredsoil,andchangedtheallocationsofnitrogenandcarbon.Maize-soybeanintercroppingshouldbeaneffectiveandsustainablecroppingsystemforuplandredsoi

6、ethan2.8×10haaresownwithintercropping25annually(Zou2002),especiallyinnorthwestChina(Lietal.,2001).IntercroppingalsoisusedinEuropeanorganiccroppingsystems(Hauggaard-Nielsenetal.,2009).Ithasshownagiantpotentialtocontributetomodernandsustainableagriculture(Lithourgidisetal.,2011;Malikietal.,2016).
