3、ers.Itallowsthemonitoringoflargestructuresoverseveralmonthswithoutnoticeabledrift.Nocontinuousmeasurementisneededandthesystemisinsensitivetovariationsofthefiberlosses.Thistechniquehasbeenappliedtothemonitoringofa20mX5mX0.5m,120tonconcreteslaboversixmonths.Itispossibletomeasuretheshrin

6、iscomplexityandtheresultingcostslimitthefrequencyofthemeasurements.Furthermore,thespatialresolutionisoftenpoorandtheobservationisusuallyrestrictedtothesurfaceoftheobject.Thereisthusarealdemandforatoolallowinganinternal,automaticandpermanentmonitoringofstructureswithhighaccuracyandstab
